Formobeat 11 人大樂隊島國未來主義 Island Futurism 的第二張專輯《Patri-Ark 海長老》結合了南島文化、原住民傳說、閩南音樂和科幻元素。陣容更動後的樂團，專輯由 The Cave 洞穴唱片主理王大衛製作、玉成錄音室錄製，節奏和音效中加入了電子音樂的律動，管樂器則作為主旋律並以迷幻的科幻感呈現，投射對於未來的想像。

故事始於〈巨石從天而降〉及〈太陽鳥〉，靈感來自於大霸尖山的傳說與占卜鳥希立克鳥（台灣特有種繡眼畫眉），並加上再加上中原大陸的山海經神話對東方海洋世界的扶桑樹和太陽鳥的描述，描述神鳥打開天降巨石後來到世界上的第一對夫婦。快節奏的〈絕地天通〉故事源自《尚書．呂刑》中的一個傳說，天帝命令重和黎二人拉開天地間的距離，從此人與神之間不相往來，也是神話歷史與現實歷史的分野；太空感的鯤鯓傳說〈漂浮沙洲〉緩慢行進，倒敘至專輯向「海翁」 —— 台灣的海洋和巨鯨信仰致敬的標題曲〈海長老〉。

專輯穿插兩首對閩南地區傳統旋律的現代演繹：〈百家春〉和〈水月登樓〉，融合了非洲基本節奏並重新詮釋了台灣爵士樂發起脈絡。

The “Formobeat” collective Island Futurism's second album "Patri-Ark 海長老" combines Austronesian culture, indigenous legends, Hokkien music, and sci-fi elements. Compared to the first release “AIslander”, the rhythmic patterns and sound texture were infused with electronic music production, and wind instruments as lead melodies were arranged with a dubby sci-fi touch.

The story starts with a rock falling from the sky and the myth of the great flood, representing the turning point between ancient mythological and present historical worlds. "Sunbird" is inspired by the Siliq bird on Mount Sylvania, revealing the world's first couple after a divine bird opened the giant stone. The title track "Patri-Ark" is a tribute to the sea god “Hái-Ang” (sea elder) and represents both the sea deity and the giant whale-worshiping culture of Taiwan.

The album includes two modern interpretations of traditional melodies: "Spring Around" and "Water-Moon Ascending to the Tower." "Spring Around" celebrates springtime during the agricultural civilization and incorporates basic rhythms of African references. "Water-Moon Ascending to the Tower" uses “eight-tone”- the ancient scale of instruments that are shared commonly throughout East Asia to create a time-traveling atmosphere that connects past to future.
